Paloma

The PALOMA is a popular tequila highball cocktail in Mexico. It’s less known outside its borders. Grapefruit soda is added to tequila and lime juice with a pinch of salt to create a delightfully refreshing drink. It’s simple, easy to prepare and no bar tools are required.

Requirements: Silver tequila, fresh lime juice, grapefruit soda, salt, lime wheel & straw

  • 2 oz. silver tequila
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 4 oz. grapefruit soda
  • salt
  • lime wheel for garnish and straw

If a salted glass is preferred, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a highball glass and dip onto salt. Add ice to the glass and mix in the ingredients. If glass rim isn’t salted, add a pinch of salt to the mix. Garnish with a lime wheel and add straw.

Comments: Grapefruit soda can be replaced with a mix of 2 oz. fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice combined with 2 oz. club soda and 3/4 oz. simple syrup. Although silver tequila is more commonly used, gold reposado tequila is preferred by some.
