Alien Brain Hemorrhage Shot

A fun desert alternative is the ALIEN BRAIN HEMORRHAGE SHOT. Besides its sweet liqueur-based mix, the composition is layered in a way that is best described by its name. Peach Schnapps and Blue Curacao give it a nice fruity base. A delicate pouring of Bailey’s Irish Cream gives it the creamy cocoa & whiskey flavoring while contributing the alien brain. Finally, a few drops of grenadine add a sweet pomegranate accent while contributing the hemorrhage (see video demo below). The shot without the Blue Curacao is just called the Brain Hemorrhage.

• 3/4 oz. Peach Schnapps
• 3/4 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
• 1/4 oz. grenadine (up to 1/2 oz.)
• 1/2 oz. Blue Curacao

Pour Peach Schnapps into the shot glass (larger sized shot glass is preferred). Use the back of a spoon to pour Irish Cream slowly on top. Drip the grenadine on top of the Irish Cream so that it sinks through onto the bottom. Finally, drip the Blue Curacao on top of the Irish Cream so that it adds an extra layer underneath. (Blue Curacao may be omitted if the simpler Brain Hemorrhage without alien influence is desired.)

Comments: This is a chance to try out your artistic side in a shot glass. The grosser, the better. No two shots will look the same. It reminds me of the turntable oil-painting we would do as kids at the amusement park or boardwalk. At the end though is a sweet liquid desert which also happens to have alcohol.
