Pumpkin Pie Old-Fashioned
Torani Pumpkin Pie Sauce can be easily added to an applejack brandy or bourbon Old-Fashioned in place of the standard brown sugar or other sugar item and result in a delicious fall-inspired cocktail — the PUMPKIN PIE OLD-FASHIONED. It’s less filling and more subtle than using pumpkin puree. The mix below works nicely:
Requirements: applejack brandy or bourbon, pumpkin pie syrup (Torani Pumpkin Pie Sauce), Angostura & Orange bitters, seltzer or club soda
- 2 oz. applejack or bourbon
- 3/4 tsp pumpkin pie syrup
- 1 dash Angostura bitters, 2 dashes orange bitters
- 1 tbsp seltzer or club soda
- orange peel for garnish (optional)
Add the syrup and bitters to a rocks glass. Add seltzer or club soda and stir until the syrup is nearly dissolved. Fill the glass with a large ice cube, add bourbon or applejack and stir to combine. Optional garnish: Express the oil of an orange peel over the glass and drop in.
Comments: If going for 3 oz. of applejack or bourbon, use 1 teaspoon of syrup. (Syrup and bitters can both be adjusted to suit your taste.)
