Carrot Daiquiri

The CARROT DAIQUIRI mixes delicious carrot juice and white rum. But it also has a few things in the mix that might need purchased in advance such as falernum liqueur, mint sprigs and turmeric.  Here’s a daiquiri that has the healthy benefits of vitamin A in carrot juice, the potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits of turmeric, the antiviral and antibacterial properties of mint, and rum to help celebrate the season (or season’s end).

Requirements: white rum, falernum, carrot juice, lime juice, simple syrup, mint sprigs, turmeric, crushed ice

  • 1.75 oz. white rum
  • 1 oz. carrot juice
  • .75 oz. falernum
  • .5 oz. lime juice
  • 1/4 oz. (or 1.5 tsp) simple syrup
  • 1-2 mint sprigs
  • 1 cup crushed ice for blender
  • turmeric powder

(1) If a blender is used, combine all the ingredients in a blender with crushed ice and blend until creamy. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with mint sprigs. Dust top with turmeric. (2) Without a blender, add liquid ingredients into an ice-filled shaker. Shake to chill and pour into a tall glass filled with ice. Garnish and dust the top as before.

Comments: Falernum is a standard liqueur used in tiki rum drinks and gets arguably more cocktail inclusion during summer months. This delicious Carrot Daiquiri recipe is from T.J. Palmiere, courtesy Imbibe.
