Iceberg

The ICEBERG is a no-nonsense cool-off cocktail with the clean taste of lemon (or citron) vodka mixed with a touch of Pernod. To mirror its name, the vodka must be served icy cold in a chilled cocktail glass. Its preparation only involves rinsing the glass with licorice-flavored Pernod prior to a shake and a pour.

Requirements: citron or lemon vodka, Pernod, lemon twist

  • 2 oz. citron or lemon vodka
  • Pernod
  • 1 lemon twist for garnish

Rinse a chilled cocktail or old-fashioned glass with Pernod until it is entirely coated. Discard the excess Pernod. Add vodka to an ice-filled shaker. Shake to chill and pour into the glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Comments: Though my personal preference is to use a cocktail glass, most recipes call for an Old-Fashioned glass either with ice or without. Using a rocks glass filled with ice allows for a direct pour of vodka into the glass and eliminates shaking. Most importantly, enjoy this with icy-cold vodka.
