Corkscrew

The CORKSCREW is a white (light) rum, martini-style cocktail that suits almost any occasion or time of the year. It’s pleasing with a mild peach flavor and is beautifully balanced by dry vermouth. The Corkscrew is similar to a Jean Harlow but uses the peach schnapps as a sweetener instead of a sweet vermouth.

Requirements: light rum, dry vermouth, peach schnapps, lime slice for garnish

  • 1.5 oz. light rum
  • 1/2 oz. dry vermouth
  • 1/2 oz. peach schnapps
  • 1 lime slice for garnish

Add all ingredients to an ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop a thin slice of lime into the drink for garnish.

Comments: As in most straight up preparations, a good dry vermouth and middle-to-upper-shelf light rum can make a difference. This can also be served on the rocks in a highball glass where club soda is used as topper.
