What’s Up Doc
WHAT’S UP DOC is a carrot-juice cocktail which incorporates the ginger flavor of a Moscow Mule. There are bourbon, tequila and gin versions of this cocktail, but the vodka version is more refreshing and lighter. The carrot and ginger-beer balance together nicely, with no interference from the vodka. It’s a nice Easter celebration drink, especially for breakfast or brunch; but it also provides some real nutritional vitamin A from the carrots and digestive & anti-inflammatory benefits from ginger. Health benefits abound!
Requirements: vodka, ginger beer, carrot juice, lime juice, simple syrup, carrot peels for garnish
- 2 oz. vodka
- 3/4 oz. carrot juice
- 1/2 oz. lime juice
- 1/4 oz. simple syrup
- Ginger beer topper
Add all ingredients except ginger beer to an ice-filled mixing glass or shaker. Strain into a highball or rocks glass half filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with strips of carrot peel.
Comments: This carrot juice fizzy goes down easy, but don’t forget that it has 2 oz. of vodka per serving.
Happy Easter!
