Himalayan Mist

The HIMALAYAN MIST is a blue, peach-flavored vodka cocktail primarily found in restaurants serving Indian cuisine. I recreated this recipe from a local Indian restaurant’s menu, using the same ingredients, but reducing the sweetness (see the video demo below). The result is delicious and more balanced, making it a perfect accompaniment with spicy food, a refreshing summer drink, or a delightful starter cocktail.

Requirements: Vodka, peach schnapps, Blue Curacao, lime juice

  • 3 oz. (2 jiggers) vodka
  • 3/4 oz. (1 pony) peach schnapps
  • 3/4 oz. (1 pony) Blue Curacao
  • 3/4 oz. (1 pony) lime juice (or one half of a large lime)

Fill a shaker with ice and combine all the ingredients. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a martini glass and serve “up.” You may garnish with a lemon wheel or wedge and squeeze it into the drink for added tartness.

Comments: Peach schnapps and Blue Curacao are two affordable liqueurs commonly used in various cocktail recipes. Peach schnapps, in particular, pairs well with vodka.
