Mocktails

For various reasons, particularly in January, there may be a desire to reduce or eliminate alcohol consumption completely. Three of the four mocktails listed in the Keet’s Cocktails directory are made with cooled black tea. The fourth is the popular bar standard, Shirley Temple. All are garnished and combined with non-alcoholic components typical of regular cocktails. The four links below will lead you to these mixes that simulate bar cocktails while allowing the bright-eyed, bushy-tailed imbiber to drive safely and stick to plan or diet restrictions.

Another way to eliminate or reduce alcohol in a mix is to purchase products available in liquor and grocery stores that are designed to replace specific spirits. Some of the brands currently available include:

  • Ritual Zero Proof: Offers gin, whiskey, tequila, and rum alternatives.
  • Lyre’s: Wide range including classic spirits and liqueurs.
  • Drink Monday: Known for strong tequila and mezcal mimics.
  • Seedlip & Wilderton: Botanical distillates, great for complex base flavors.
  • ISH: Provides non-alcoholic beers and spirits.

Lots of substitutions as never before. Happy mixing!
