Apricot Brandy Sour

The citrusy APRICOT BRANDY SOUR is a simple 2-ingredient mix: apricot brandy and sour mix. While you can always buy a sour mix at the grocery store, it will never be as good or fresh as one you prepare yourself. The flavors of apricot, lemon and lime create a winning combination with the brandy.
- 2 oz. apricot brandy
- 3 oz. sour mix (1/3 part lemon, 1/3 part lime, 1/3 part simple syrup)
- 1 maraschino cocktail cherry
Combine liquid ingredients in an ice-filled mixing glass and stir to chill. Strain into a highball or rocks glass filled halfway with ice. Garnish with a cherry.
Comments: If you’re in the mood for something citrusy, but not as boozy as a Sidecar or rum punch, this easy, light-alcohol refreshment is perfect. It’s hard not to like. Mine was made with an inexpensive bottle of Leroux Apricot Brandy. The sour mix should be made fresh to truly enjoy this drink. If you don’t have simple syrup, it can be easily made on a stovetop by stirring granulated sugar into boiled water until dissolved (50/50 sugar to water) and letting it cool. Simple syrup can be kept refrigerated for a month.
