Aperol Spritz
The APEROL SPRITZ is a well-known Italian aperitif refresher. It features Aperol, a Campari-owned liqueur that combines bitter notes from rhubarb, gentian root (found in Angostura bitters), cinchona bark, and citrus oil from oranges, creating its signature zesty orange hue and flavor. The drink is made with a ratio of three parts Prosecco to two parts Aperol, complemented by a splash of club soda to balance the sweet and bitter overtones.
- 3 oz. Prosecco
- 2 oz. Aperol
- 1 oz. club soda
Add the Prosecco, Aperol, and club soda to an ice-filled wine glass and stir. Garnish with an orange slice. (See tutorial above.)
Comments: This cocktail is light on alcohol and has a bittersweet flavor. While similar to Campari, Aperol is often described as milder with a more pronounced orange taste. Traditionally, the Aperol Spritz is served before meals as an appetite stimulant. With just three ingredients, it’s as easy as 1-2-3 to prepare—or rather, 3-2-1.
