8 Cocktails to Make for New Year’s Eve
As we approach a new year, it’s nice sometimes to toast the outgoing and incoming with something different, something memorable. If your go-to cocktail or champagne is too anti-climactic this year, here are some New Year’s suggestions as previously posted in Keet’s Cocktails (go to individual drink posts for recipes):
FRENCH 75 — The mix of gin, champagne, lemon juice and simple syrup might just have you saying, “Here’s looking at you, kid.”
HIGH VOLTAGE — Tequila, peach schnapps & lime juice are an electric alternative to the everyday margarita.
HIGHLANDER — The orange-themed Rob Roy is classic and old-world flavored — a perfect anchor for the new year.
MELON BALL DROP — As you watch the Times Square ball drop, honeydew melon drops nicely into Midori, St-Germaine & vodka.
NY SOUR SHOTS — Shot versions of the classic bourbon or rye drink — shaken, poured into a shots glass & topped with fruity red wine.
SMOKY MARTINI — Instead of a standard gin martini, add 1/4 oz. smoky scotch whisky to the gin and enjoy the peat influence.
VESPER MARTINI — The trio of gin, vodka and Lillet has something for everyone, and includes a kick worthy of James Bond.
SIDECAR — With its sugared rim, the brandy, Cointreau & lemon juice are deliciously balanced in a boozy mix to luxuriate in.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
