Father’s Day Cocktails

Recommendations for Father’s Day cocktails (pictured above) are mostly well-known, tried & true. Two or three are less known. But, they’re all delicious, depending on dad’s preferences, and deliver enough punch to make it count. Categorized by spirit, they are:

  • Bourbon: Manhattan, Gold Rush, Boulevardier
  • Scotch: Rob Roy
  • Rum: Dark ‘N Stormy, Rum Old-Fashioned
  • Vodka: Dirty Martini, Vesper
  • Gin: Negroni, Vesper, Peppercorn Gin Gimlet

The recipes and variations to these drinks are all presented in the Keet’s Cocktails catalogue. A Manhattan can be made with almost any kind of whiskey, including rye. The Rob Roy can be easily switched over to a Highlander by using orange bitters & orange twist. The Dirty Martini can be replaced by the standard Gin or Vodka Martini. The Peppercorn Gin Gimlet recipe represents almost any gin & lime drink, but was originally created for a specific botanical vodka from Square One Organic Spirits. The Rum Old-Fashioned is easily replaced by the more common bourbon or rye Old-Fashioned. Finally, a Keet’s Cocktails’ Gold Rush is a favorite, more akin to the bourbon cocktail named the Chapel Hill, since it includes orange liqueur. There are about 100 other cocktail recipes at www.keetscocktails.com to check out as well. The most important thing: Dad should find some time to put his feet up and enjoy his favorite.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads!
